MOSQUITOES - repellent does not work! Help me!

I have tried many repellents on and none is working! I was out the other day with a short sleeve top and skirt to the knee and had to wear repellent, but I still I have 25 bites in about five minutes sitting on the porch. Can not even walk out to get away without having a snack, but they do not even touch my boyfriend! Any ideas on good repellent? I had been using advanced and cutting off, and sometimes a herbal spray with lemongrass and citrus, but none worked. Does anyone know of any good, we hope that all is not sticky on the skin so that you feel need a shower after use?
