I killed a harmless mosquito eater and I feel guilty. How can I make it up?

I killed a harmless crane fly aka mosquito eater and I feel guilty. Does anyone believe that they can go to heaven? Childish question, but I feel guilty. For a split second I thought it was a mosquito. I usually trap insects and let them go outside, but .. I this time I didn't. Crane flys eat nothing but nectar or nothing at all there adult life. It just lives to die and breed. A totally harmless creature, that doesn't seem to take anything at all.

The unfortunate truth is a bird probably would have eaten it anyway if it was out doors. How about putting up a bird feeder, one with seeds or a humming bird feeder. Humming birds are really cool to watch and are always hungry due to their high metabolism. Who knows how many crane flys you could save by keeping the birds fed
