New born questions that need to be answered urgently!! (10 points)?

Hi guys,
First of all I have my baby on the way anytime now, i've been setting up the nursery and have a few questions that I need answered by you.

1. I bought a crib/cot matress and it has the original plastic wrap over it. I was deciding to keep the plastic on and cover the matress with a well fitted matress protector. (Material) I didn't want to undo the plastic as I am scared of bugs or anything irritating the baby. Would that be ok if I do it my way?
2. I had purchased wash clothes in originally packages and a few towels. Would I need to wash them prior to using them?
3. How do I clean dust off the mosquito net which is hanging over the cot?

1) Defiantly should be fine. However, keeping it on for those reasons are not needed a mattress protector with rubber like backing is just as effective and there is no crinkly noise to wake the baby when you put him/ her down.
2) I would wash them as who knows and they will smell better and make them more absorbent.
3) The best way is to take it down and soak it as you would lace curtains, dip it in warm soapy water, wring out and drip dry or pop it in the washing machine on gentle or hand wash if you have that cycle.

IMO out of all of them getting the netting clean would be the most important, it is surprising what little bugs and the amount of dust that collects on them. I could never live without one though lol. They just finish a nursery off so well.
