Mosquito Repellent India
Best safe way to prevent mosquito bites?

I'm going to India and Nepal for 2 weeks and I am petrified of mosquitoes (and all diseases that can infect with)! I've never been a place mosquito ridden before, and I'm not sure what you can safely do to prevent mosquitoes from biting me. I was told to use DEET and spray all my clothing with permethrin, but I read that DEET can cause neurological damage and increased peremthrin Parkinson's disease. But repellents "natural" does not seem to really work. I'm so confused! What can I do, or just make a bet and go with the lesser of two evils (in this case, go with DEET and permethrin)?

If you do not have Parkinson's, you can go with DEET, but have looked at other natural remedies that might help and usually work? http://www.motherearthnews.com/Natural-Health/2006-05-01/Natural-Mosquito-Repellent.aspx http: / / In www.burtsbees.com/natural-products/sun-outdoor-protection/herbal- insect-repellent.html? WT.srch = 1 This CDC report that list 4 mosquito repellents with DEET and naturally is on the list. They also list a synthetic version of oil of lemon eucalyptus, that might fit your comfort zone. Http: / / www.cdc.gov / ncidod / dvbid / westnile / RepellentUpdates.htm One should be noted that the Centers for Disease Control recommends applying repellent to clothing and exposed skin only. They also recommend not to put the repellent on your skin to be covered by clothing. You may want to consider applying of DEET to clothing and only the most natural or quasi-natural repellent for your skin. Do not neglect the brim of his hat. I was also supposed to have done their homework in the purification water. While there may be neurological damage from exposure to long-term, two weeks is a short-term exposure. You should go on your travels without the concern and without the worry of being bitten by mosquitoes. Often dressed in layers of light can help act as a deterrent as well - but not the treatment of upper layer and the skin exposure. That's what we do and that is what my sister for her 6 weeks trip to India. Here's another site I found which indicates that mosquitoes in reality can be attracted by the CO2 - but I would not say that you stop breathing - there are few other suggestions you'd like to read here: http://tipnut.com/how-to-prevent-mosquito-bites/ They also mention garlic, vitamin B1 or B6 or perhaps the complex, but you have to do beforehand, lemon, yeast. I found a cool detergent year lemon in a white bowl Joy helped quite a bit. I'm not sure how this would translate to clothes, however, but may help in a hotel room. And another site reminded me of the leaves of Bounce fabric softener - Maybe. And Avon's skin so soft oil - which might or might not work - I've used it on horses. Consumption of indigenous foods with hot peppers and curry is another suggestion that is supposed to help. Makes sense really. Bon Voyage
