Some repellents containing DEET are also toxic chemicals like isopropyl alcohol and ethyl, which are highly harmful to children. DEET is also easily absorbed by the human intestine to cause health risks even more.
Constant and high exposure to chemical repellents can also cause fatigue constant, muscle and joint pain, difficulty breathing, general physical weakness, memory loss and persistent headaches. Prolonged exposure of the skin to these chemicals cause skin allergies, redness, eye irritation, skin discoloration and inflammation. People usually develop tremors and shortness of breath when overexposed to harsh chemicals in these repellents. Some chemicals are even known to cause genetic damage animals with enumerable issues that have been listed toxic in humans. There are many botanical and available on the market today are effective mosquito abatement without causing health hazards. Other harmful chemicals go-based mosquito repellent, you can try some natural repellent made with essential oils like citronella, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, etc.
