If you delete a tropical mosquito, what insects they are replaced in the ecosystem?

Pretend you had a magic bullet that ended with mosquitoes in a tropical area (I'm thinking of pheromone traps). A creature could fill the slot vacated when ecological depart from the scene. What species or genus would have the best chance?

Interesting question. I'm not sure the concept of competition for ecological niche applies very well here. How do mosquitoes to prevent the emergence of new species with similar feeding and reproductive behavior? I do not think there is a shortage of blood to be absorbed by the animals of prey, or the lack of space for breeding, it would be my assumption that the disappearance of mosquitoes would not have a major impact on the evolution of other species of insects.
