Why mosquito repellent incense Indian does not work hard enough?
I wonder Mosquito Indians are too big to kill.
Not that the INCENSE is not working in the mosquito, is that incense is not working on your skin! That's the important thing right? What incense can do is to apply enough DEET to the skin. DEET is the most common active ingredient in insect repellents. Its purpose is applied to the skin or clothing, and is used mainly to protect against insect bites. In particular, DEET protects against tick bites (which transmit Lyme disease, rickettsial groups, meningo-borne ticks and other tick-borne diseases) and mosquito bites (which transmit dengue, West Nile Virus, Eastern Equine Encephalitis, and malaria). DEET was developed by the United States Army, following the experience of jungle warfare during World War II. He entered military use in 1946 and civilian use in 1957. Found initially as a pesticide in the fields, the U.S. Government apply for wartime use, especially when in Vietnam and around the region of Asia. DEET Is believed to work by blocking insect olfactory receptors of 1 octen-3-ol, a volatile substance that is found in human sweat and breath. DEET effectively "Blinds" the insect's senses so the biting instinct / power is not turned by humans or animals which produce these chemicals. DEET does not appear to affect the ability of insects smell carbon dioxide, as previously suspected. DEET and is often sold in concentrations of up to 100%. Consumer Reports found a direct correlation between DEET concentration and hours of protection against biting insects. 100% DEET was found to offer up to 12 hours protection, while several lower concentration DEET formulations (20% -34%) that offers 3.6 hours of protection. [3] Other studies have confirmed the effectiveness of DEET. [4] The Centers for Disease Control recommends 30-50% DEET to prevent the spread of pathogens carried by insects. As a precaution, manufacturers advise that DEET products should not use under clothing or damaged skin, and that preparations were washed after they are no longer necessary or between applications [5] DEET can act as an irritant. [1] In rare cases, can cause skin reactions. [5] In decision DEET Reregistration Eligibility (RED), EPA 14-46 reported cases of possible crises associated DEET, including 4 deaths. The EPA states: ".. it seems that some cases are likely related to DEET toxicity," but noted that 30% of the U.S. population with DEET, the attack rate is probably only about 100 million users. [6] Information Project Pesticide Cooperative Extension office at Cornell University states that "employees of the Everglades National Park with extensive Deet exposure were more likely to have insomnia, mood and cognitive function were less exposed to co-workers. "[7] The Academy American Academy of Pediatrics found no difference in safety for children, between products with 10% and 30% DEET, when used as directed, but does not recommend using DEET on infants under two months old. Alternative studies have shown-based repellents containing eucalyptus oil, natural eucalyptol to be a highly effective alternative to DEET and non-toxic. [12] Icaridin is another insect repellent with DEET comparable strength, but is less irritating and does not dissolve plastics. [Citation needed] A test of various insect repellents marketed by an independent consumer organization found that synthetic repellents, including those containing DEET, were more effective than repellents with 'natural' active ingredients. All synthetics gave almost 100% repellency of first 2 hours, while proven natural repellent products were most effective for the first 30-60 minutes and then requires a new application to be effective for several hours. [13] Oil of citronella has been used as an insect repellent for 60 years. [14] Its mosquito repellency qualities have been verified by research, [15] [16] [17] However, the duration of repellency of DEET is much higher [18]. Although most oil-based repellents are essential as effective as DEET, [18] [19] Research also shows that some formula based on essential oil can be comparable with DEET, and more specifically as mosquito repellent.
