Is it true "Garlic" keeps mosquitoes biting.?

Does eating raw garlic too, or you miss. Or the use of pills garlic horse. Lol Or you rub on your skin. I'm going too test this theroy tonight! I Linguinni garlic for dinner tonight. I cut a 7 cloves of garlic and add the oil olive oil with garlic n some Mrs. Dash Herb. It was great! Now let's see if this works. lol I'm out every night with the neighbors. Most of them are not stop bit. But my friend and I have a lot of mosquito bites. I can not use OFF or any other insect repellent because of my allergies. Anyone have any suggestions. And no, I'm not staying in lol Barb: o)

Barb:. I've heard that works, but I'm not sure. Of course I know that makes your skin smell for a few days if you eat lots of garlic! . I've also heard that eating bananas really attracts insects such as mosquitoes in the skin. . Some links>>. The people arguing that attract food or ward off mosquitoes. The conclusion seems to be that does not have much effect. http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080530061347AA0tMEo. The New York Times says the idea repellent Garlic is a myth (but what do they know how many mosquitoes do Manhattan skyscraper home?). http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/24/health/24real.html. Y this is a longer debate. I have excerpted part of it from the link below for you:. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/14996. Some people have had success with a variety of foods and herbs in your diet to prevent insect bites. Garlic is one. Even the smell Kyolic (garlic) can ward off insects. Brewer's yeast seems help some people. Also, could possibly succeed with food or fresh basil or thyme, oregano or mint leaves or cinnamon. Cayenne with any these might help. Eating some freshly ground cloves will probably help. Herbs and foods that control parasites will probably help. Vitamins B, especially B-1, might help.
