Is Marijuana THC natural insect repellent?

I once heard that marijuana is the plant's natural insect repellent that gets you high - well I guess THC is basically the insect repellent released by the marijuana plant? Can anyone verify? Yes, Most of plants in their natural forms have some form of natural resources insect repellent usually in the form of a nerve toxin and it is marijuana `s version.
